- shallow dive site for beginners without particular strong currents, it has sandy bottom and quite a pure marine life. Due to the shallow dive depth you need to watch out for glass bottom and daily boats. If you are lucky you can find a big turtle or a grouper lying on the sandy bottom far away from divers. There are also pinnacles with table corrals.
- it is a famous dive site for the DSD, OWD and for inexperienced divers with shallow sandy bottom and gentle slope. Also ideal for AOWD. Currents there are light, seldom moderate, rarely strong. Potential risks are: glass bottom boats and currents that get stronger on the corner towards the Temple. Watch out for the air supply in this area because the currents tend to lead you away from the reef. The main pinnacle is covered with the “golden fish”/Redstripe fairy basslet/ and many other corral fish grouped there to hide between all kinds off hard and soft corrals.
- an easy dive site with sandy bottom reaching to max. depth of 24 meters. Watch out for the “glass boats” as they like to stay above the main pinnacle a place that is full of all kinds of hard and soft corrals as well as many kinds of coral fish. /Redstripe fairy basslet, Red sea fusilier etc.
- Ras Umm Sid ranks among the best local dive sites with its vertical wall descending to more than 35 meters with an abundant marine life. Risks related to this dive site are: strong currents especially around the corner and daily boats passing the corner in great speed quite close to the shallow area where the divers tend to finish their dive. For shore dives it is very important to turn back in the right time as it is quite difficult to return after passing the Exit point due to the stro of rays and the dive site is also rich with corrals /Gorgonian-sea fan/.ng currents. Often it is possible to see big pelagic fish, turtles, all kinds.
– these dive sites have quite a similar morphology. All are meant to be dived as a “Drift dive” and as such they require more experience divers. Watch carefully the agreed depth, as the walls are almost vertical and bottom if quite often deeper than recreational depth limits. Make sure you are not diving far from the reef as the currents can take you into the blue water. After a safety stop ascent close to the reef. This place is often visited by pelagic /Manta ray, Spotted eagle ray, different kinds of sharks/ and is rich with soft coral such as Broccoli soft coral.
- dive sites with shallow part and a drop off, they are universal for all levels of diving. Watch out for “glass boat” and currents which occur in the corner towards the Middle garden and Sharks bay. If you are making a mooring dive make sure that you ascent close to the reef or holding on to the mooring line. Big turtles and groupers can be seen towards the corners and from the corrals: you can see huge Gorogonian-sea fan and nice table corals/ acropora sp./.
- these dive sites are ideal for less experienced divers with their shallow sandy parts easy sloping away from the main wall. Currents are rarely a reason for worries, however, watch out for the boats moored on the dive sites. What you can find here are schools of Yellowsaddle goatfish and Milkfish.
- place ideal for all kinds of courses with confined water area that is perfectly protected from waves, currents and all risks, as well as for OWC and AOWC with big sandy patches which can accommodate big numbers of students while doing their exercises. You should be careful when finishing the dive because there are many windsurfs and all kind of water activities going on there.
- an easy dive site with a nice canyon descending from shallow sandy area of 5m to the 40 meter depth. Almost vertical wall requires divers with good buoyancy control. You need to watch out for the surface water activities and always ascend close to the reef. Currents are not an issue here. Titan triggerfish and Big red octopus is often seen here making, together with Salad coral, this dive site even more interesting.
- this dive site requires more experienced divers as there are sometimes strong currents and the bottom is often quite deep. Be careful at the corner between these two dive sites because currents tend to take you far from the reef. Due to currents sites are rich for all kinds of corals such as /Dendronephytia sp., Broccoli soft coral, Salad coral, Gorgonian sea-fan coral, etc./ In the blue you can see pelagic.
